Firstmind is a small custom studio on Beach Boulevard, on the east side of Jacksonville. You sit with the artist who will tattoo you, talk the idea through, and leave with a drawing made for your body. Nothing off a wall.

Four resident artists, each booking their own calendar. Pick the hand that fits the idea.

How a piece
gets made

Four things happen between the idea in your head and the tattoo on your arm.

Consult

Come in, show us references, tell us where it goes and how big. We talk placement, budget and how many sittings it needs. No deposit to have the conversation.

Draw

Your artist draws the piece for your body, then sizes the stencil against it on the day.

Set up

Single-use needles, fresh caps, wrapped machine. Opened in front of you.

Tattoo and heal

Long sessions get broken into sittings so the skin stays workable. You leave wrapped, with written aftercare and a number to text if anything looks off. Touch-ups on our work are free.

Aftercare

Look after it and
it looks after you

First 24 hours

  • Leave the wrap on for as long as your artist told you, not longer.
  • Wash once with clean hands and unscented soap, then pat dry.
  • No pools, no ocean, no gym, no sleeping on it.

Week one

  • Thin layer of unscented lotion two or three times a day.
  • It will flake and itch. Do not pick it and do not scratch it.
  • Keep it out of direct sun and out of tight clothing.

After that

  • Sunscreen is the single best thing you can do for the linework.
  • Text the shop if anything looks hot, raised or wrong.
  • Touch-ups on work we did are free. Just book them.
